Every service, one list

What we do, who does it, and how long it takes

This is our working catalogue, not a brochure. Each line is a written procedure we run for clients today. Where the law needs the director present, or a qualified specialist, it says so.

Formations and ready-made companies

Getting the company right at the start is cheaper than fixing it later. Every downstream document, from the bank application to the letterhead, asserts what the register says.

Company formation

New businesses, second entities, group restructures

Incorporation with the right officers, share structure and SIC codes, a registered office, and the first filing calendar set before you need it. London and the South through Supreme; the North through our sister firm Incorpwise.

TimingSame day to 2 working daysNeedsPhoto ID and proof of address for each officer

Ready-made company

Buyers who need an incorporated, filed company now

An aged company from our stock, with confirmation statement and first accounts filed, then the VAT, bank and EORI route prepared for you to complete as the new owner.

TimingTransfer in daysStockWholesale, trade supply, propertyMoreHow it works

Appoint a director (AP01)

Companies with no director on record, or adding one

A private company must have at least one director. With none, nothing can be filed until it is fixed. We prepare the appointment; the incoming director signs.

Timing30 minutes to prepareNeedsDirector signs

Identity verification and personal code

Every director and person with significant control

Companies House now verifies the identity of directors and PSCs. The personal code it issues belongs to the person, not the company, and follows them. We get it done and recorded once.

Timing15 minutes with the personNeedsPhoto ID

PSC register changes

Any change in who owns or controls the company

Companies must update their own PSC register within 14 days of a change and file it within a further 14. We review the change the same day and file it.

TimingSame day reviewDeadline14 + 14 days

HMRC registrations

Several of these are free and quick. All of them stall for months if a step is missed, and most of them depend on each other in an order that is not written down anywhere.

VAT registration

Turnover heading past £90,000, or voluntary registration for a trading business

We prepare the application and the evidence. The submission goes from your own Government Gateway with you on the call, which is what the rules require. We then chase HMRC for the number.

TimingPrepare in an hour; HMRC 2 to 8 weeksNeedsDirector present, Gateway accessThreshold£90,000 rolling 12 months

Corporation Tax UTR

Any company that does not hold its number

A UTR is issued about a fortnight after incorporation and posted to the registered office. If it went to a former agent, we order a copy or register for Corporation Tax where that was missed. No UTR means no VAT application.

Timing25 minutes to order; HMRC 2 to 3 weeksWarnSort the registered office first or the letter goes to the wrong place

EORI number (GB and XI)

Anyone moving goods in or out of Great Britain

Needed to import, export and register for licences. Free and quick. A GB EORI does not cover Northern Ireland movements; that needs the separate XI number, which itself needs the GB one first.

Timing30 minutes; usually issued within daysCostFree

PAYE scheme and payroll

Your first employee, or a payroll you want to move

Through We Switch Payroll: scheme registration, migration from your current provider, RTI on or before every payday, pension auto-enrolment, PAYE and CIS together for construction.

TimingMigration in one pay cycleMoreweswitchpayroll.co.uk

Companies House authentication code

Any company that has lost it

Without it nothing can be filed. A replacement is posted to the registered office and takes 5 to 10 working days, so we request it before anything that depends on it.

Timing15 minutes; post 5 to 10 working days

Trade licences and approvals

The ones that catch businesses out are the ones nobody told them applied. Each of these is covered in detail on the licences page.

Alcohol Wholesaler Registration (AWRS)

Anyone selling alcohol to other businesses for resale

HMRC approval before you trade, with a fit-and-proper assessment and a 45-day minimum notice period. No fee. We prepare; a specialist reviews before submission.

Timing45 days minimumCostNo HMRC feeMoreDetail

MHRA wholesale dealer licence (WDA(H))

Wholesaling human medicines

A four-figure application fee, around 90 days, an inspection and a qualified Responsible Person on call. Our job is honest qualification first, then scoping with a specialist.

TimingAbout 90 daysMoreDetail

Food business registration

Anyone who sells, stores, handles or distributes food, including brokers and online sellers

Free, cannot be refused, and required at least 28 days before you start. Registration puts you on the local authority hygiene inspection list; it is not an approval.

Timing35 minutesCostFreeMoreDetail

Waste carrier, broker or dealer registration

Builders, clearance firms and logistics operators carrying waste

The tier is what everyone gets wrong, and the wrong tier is the same as not being registered. We ask what you actually carry and register the right one.

CIS gross payment status

Construction subcontractors losing 20% of every payment to HMRC

Passes the compliance test only if your filing record is clean, which is exactly the record our other work creates. We prepare; you submit.

Companies House compliance and rescue

An overdue confirmation statement is what starts a strike-off. It is the cheapest problem on this list to make disappear, and the most expensive to ignore.

Confirmation statement

Every company, every year

Filed with the officer list checked against what we hold first. We never confirm a record we know to be wrong.

Timing20 minutesCostCompanies House fee plus our time

Annual accounts assembly

Companies with accounts due or overdue

Accounts are prepared by a qualified accountant, never by an administrator. We assemble the records, brief the accountant and chase the deadline. Filing wrong accounts costs far more than filing late ones.

TimingDepends on the recordsPenalty£150 to £1,500, doubled if late two years running

Strike-off objection

Companies with a first Gazette notice

If a strike-off completes, the company is dissolved and every asset passes to the Crown. Objecting buys time; filing the overdue documents is the actual fix, and we do both.

TimingSame dayMoreRescue page

Government Gateway recovery

Companies locked out of HMRC online services

Three routes depending on what you still hold: online reset, the helpdesk by phone, or collecting the basics first. A wrong attempt burns a two-hour lockout, so we band your situation before we try.

Timing45 to 75 minutesMoreDetail

Register corrections

Companies whose Companies House record no longer matches reality

A resigned director still shown as in charge, an old registered office, a PSC that moved. We correct the record and keep the history, because a former officer’s entry is valid anti-money-laundering history, not an error.

Timing20 minutes per correction

Businesses starting from nothing online

Channels set up on the same login, with an AI content assistant drafting posts. Nothing publishes until the director has approved the first batch.
